Information Hangover

I had to take a break this weekend from all of this. Just way too much info and quite frankly so much of it is hearsay, etc., it's tough to discern what's a fact a what is just media speculation. What I'm going to comment on right now is John Mark Karr's plane flight from Thailand to Los Angeles. So much has been made of the five star treatment he received on the flight. Let's clear up a few things with respect to that.
In the first place, once he left Thai airspace he was no longer under arrest, therefore, no handcuffs. It wasn't until he arrived in LA that he was once again under arrest. So that fifteen plus hours on the plane, he was just another passenger. It wasn't as if King Prawns and pate were something that was an additional expense. Those meals, including alcohol, were included in his $2,400 plane ticket flying business class.
Next, let me move on to police tactics. Since he wasn't technically under arrest and obviously there was no attorney on the plane to tell him to shut his creepy yap, this would not be the first time that police used alcohol and first class treatment to try and ply information from a suspect. Get a few drinks in him, or anyone for that matter and they become a chatty Kathy. I'm sure this was a plan on the part of law enforcement from the get go. It is unclear whether any admissions or statements that he made during the flight would be admissable.
This story is just so wierd that it almost defies any type of logic. It's literally making my head spin. I'll try to get to some of the other weekend developments later on today. Stay tuned, I predict this will reach OJ tral proportions before it's over.
