Did John Mark Karr Do It?

Ever since his arrest yesterday in Bangkok, Thailand, the speculation has run rampant if John Mark Karr is the real killer of JonBennet Ramsey nearly ten years ago. Although he made statements at a press conference yesterday that would seem to make his guilt a foregone conclusion, some are not so sure.
He stated yesterday at his presss conference in Thailand the following:
“I am so very sorry for what happened to JonBenet,” Karr told The Associated Press after he appeared at a news conference earlier Thursday.
“I was with JonBenet when she died,” Karr told reporters afterward, visibly nervous and stuttering. “Her death was an accident.”
Asked if he was innocent of the crime, Karr said: “No.”
Certainly some damning statements. Yet, everyone involved in the case seems to be moving forward with a great deal of caution. He also stated yesterday to investigators that he drugged and sexually assaulted the child beauty queen before accidentally killing her, said a senior Thai police officer, who was briefed about the interview. Yet the autopsy showed no signs of drugs in her system when she died.
The prosecutor in the JonBenet Ramsey slaying urged the public not to “jump to conclusions” Thursday, hours after an expatriate school teacher in custody in Thailand claimed he accidentally killed the girl a decade ago.
Lacy suggested that the arrest may have been forced by other circumstances, including the need for public safety and fear the suspect might flee. She noted that he had started teaching in the Thai capital on Tuesday.
“There are circumstances that exist in any case that mandate an arrest before an investigation is complete,” Lacy said.
She refused to say whether authorities were worried Karr was lying about killing the little girl. Lacy said Karr has not been formally charged, and declined to speculate what counts he might face.
Additionally Karr’s ex-wife, Lara Karr, was quoted by KGO-TV in California that she was with her former husband in Alabama at the time of JonBenet’s killing and she does not believe he was involved in the homicide.
So is it him or not? Will this ten year mystery finally come to a conclusion? What if the DNA under JonBenet's finernails and panties doesn't match John Mark Karr? What then? Will the Ramsey family finally be able to come out from under this cloud of suspicion that they have lived under since December 26, 1996?
Even with the arrest of Karr, at this point there are more unanswered questions than anything else. This is an evolving story where the info is coming at us seemingly evertime we turn on the TV to see what else is new. We may start to get some answers in this decade long saga next week when he is expected to arrive in Colorado.

Yeah, ya got some good points there. You pretty well highlight most of my questions.

I actually have more questions than before he was arrested, too many things are not adding up. Somehow I do not think he did it, especially in light of the "confession" letter that Patsy Ramsey wrote prior to her death.

What confession letter. Those links don't work, in case you come back. Please explain.
I believe Patsy killed JB, by accident and made it look like murder. She could not handle the prospect of chancing involuntary manslaughter and covered it up.
I wish there were a confession letter but she was much too arrogant to leave one and it would fry her husband as her co conspirator.
The fact that Patsy and John Hired a Clinton Whitewater lawyer on the same day that they found JB, tells the story. John tells the police that the wine cellar door is painted shut, and they took him at his word, which was stupid of them. Later, after 8 hours, John and his best friend go downstairs, alone, and find her body, and it had started to decay and smell.
John Ramsey told CNN he was leaving the country after John Karr was arrested, blaming the MEDIA for the reason. I think it is MUCH more complicated that that.
I can't believe how gulliable some American's can be.
